July 15, 2026. Blackdog Biscuits can’t be at the harbour market today.

The Tobermory Marketplace is a fantastic venue and we really wanted to be there today. However, the poor air quality makes us setting up in the heat and smoke a risky adventure for us.

This is a screen capture of the AQI map for our area; it also has an image of our air monitor superimposed on it.

Our monitor’s purple light emitting diodes signal too many floating particles in the air column. The dawn outside our home is also a green-brown hue. Yeahhhhhhh, we can’t sling dog & cat treats during this extreme weather (atmospheric conditions) event. We’ll reschedule for NEXT WEDNESDAY, 10 A.M. UNTIL 1 P.M., JULY 22ND.

YOU CAN ALWAYS TEXT-CALL US AT 226-923-2968 IF YOU’D LIKE TO DROP BY AND BUY BISCUITS. WE ARE LOCATED ABOUT 15 MINUTES AWAY FROM THE HIGHWAY (DYERS BAY ROAD, ON-6 TURN-OFF). OR, WE CAN MEET YOU AT THE PARKING LOT BY DYERS BAY ROAD. CALL AHEAD TO NEGOTIATE TERMS, EH.

The last time it was this purple, I was blowing cannabis smoke directly into the sensor. Bad citizen-scientist. Bad. Bad. Bad.

I encourage you to add the following website to your bookmarks. https://map.purpleair.com/air-quality-standards-aqhi-plus?opt=%2F1%2Fmetric%2Flp%2Fa10%2Fp604800%2FcECCC&select=284590#8.02/44.737/-81.957 …and then zoom out on the interactive map.

Headspace meditation. And setting up a sales booth!

Owen Sound Farmerโ€™s Market. July 11/26.

Whatโ€™s one habit that has improved your life the most?

Weโ€™re at the end of the outdoor hall.

https://www.headspace.com โ€ฆI pay for the yearly subscription and it unlocks additional features. Guided meditation (and a useful chat bot called Ebb) helps me gain additional quality of mind.

50/50 brand. Your house panther (may) adore ๐Ÿ˜Š them. You never know, eh.

Thanos, from The Avengers. In the meantimeโ€ฆ

What villain actually had a good point?

โ€ฆcome by the harbour and shop around. NeemTreeโ€™s also available for knife sharpening services (1 week turn-around).

No gauntlets nor infinity stones in sight!

Visitors! Who enjoyed blackdogbiscuitsโ€ฆ

Mindful breathing, cognitive behavioural therapeutic tools. Oh, and buying biscuits!

Whatโ€™s the best way to deal with negative thoughts?

Wiarton, Ontario, Canada.

I appreciate the brave souls who persevered the heat and visited the event.

The gun-metal blue-grey clouds looming west of the city opened up once we were driving (defensively) up the Wiarton hill towards Colpoys Bay.

Todayโ€™s market experienced +41C humidex conditions. Gusting winds. And overheating patrons. We enjoyed the event and are REALLY glad to be recovering in our (Evolve Builders Grp. [Guelph]) strawbale home in the forest. Cooks, your Mitsubishi heat-pump is providing cooling relief!

Carnivorous skunk cabbage. Thankfully, biscuits areโ€ฆ

Whatโ€™s something you used to believe as a kid that seems ridiculous now?

โ€ฆfor sale at the Owen Sound Farmerโ€™s Market. My childhood fear of west coast, British Columbian Lysichiton americanus was odd. They just looked like they attracted flies for consumption. They here was a memorable Scientific American article about the plant. It has heat generating tissue thet allows it to poke through spring snow and attract its pollinators. Flying insects! Hell, according to the forbidden website of knowledge (wikipedia link here), bears eat it as a natural laxative post hibernation.

Open until 12:30 p.m. EST

In the meantime, drop by the market to pick up animal treats.

June 24, 2026. Itโ€™s sunny downtown, with a light breeze!

Tobermory, Ontario, Canada.

June 17th At Tobermory Harbour.

50/50 cat treats, 50/50 nip fiend, dog treats, $1 used books, knitted creations, and 3D printed tchotchkes (Owen Sound based).

Nathan. Nathan Neyedley Neem. Serving dog biscuits at the market!

If you had to change your name, what would your new name be?

Plenty of parking ๐Ÿ…ฟ๏ธ

Owen Sound Farmerโ€™s Marketโ€ฆ between the city hall and the library. The marketโ€™s open until 12:30 p.m. today!

Saturday May 30/26

The morning chillโ€™s almost gone. Thereโ€™s blue sky. Itโ€™s a good start to an Owen Sound Farmerโ€™s Market (OSFM).

From 8 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Weโ€™re installing a bear-resistant garbage bin.

Itโ€™s warmer in Tobermoryโ€ฆ

โ€ฆcompared to last week. Sunny too! Come and visit our marketplace, until 1 p.m. and then meander the teat of our local community. May 20, 2026.

Until 1 p.m.

This is a new product. Itโ€™s based on what cats would eat if they were eating rodents out in the wild. Itโ€™s fascinatingly gruesome. Ask us about it.

Meat free.

May 13th. Rain? Yep… we’ll still try the Tobermory Makers-Craft Event.

07:25 EST. Stay tuned. https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=1587648423361338&set=a.508477471278444
